Before podcasts were even a thing, CNN boldly launched a groundbreaking audio storytelling platform. I stepped in as a producer and reporter, spearheading our daily show and shaping my own stories for this ambitious experiment. Yet in 2013, the company dismissed non-video storytelling as unworthy of investment—and just like that, our entire department was wiped out. The irony isn’t lost on me.
